Kibber

Located deep in the highlands of Spiti Valley, Kibber is a Himalayan town with population in a meagre hundreds. When you are approaching this village, you cannot help but be fascinated by its location – a cluster of the classic Spitian mudhouses and a backdrop of snow-clad mountains and nothing else till your eyes can see. Kibber is a travelers’ muse for its monastery, curious location, and most importantly, for the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. Come winter, you can spot snow leopards in this village, of course, after much (and well-deserving) efforts.

Kibber is 20 km from Spiti’s capital of Kaza. During the summer months, the two are connected with a local bus service and many tourist vehicles.
